Local Firm Builds Foundation and Support for New Marlins Ballpark
Contex Construction was established in 1999 in Miami, FL. They are a local shell contractor. They have completed various cast-in-place concrete projects for FIU, Miami-Dade College and the Miami-Dade School Board. The president of the company is Olga Martell. With the New Marlins Ballpark, Contex has been responsible for pouring foundation as well as the fabrication of the ‘super columns’ which will support the retractable roof. “We became involved with the Marlins stadium project several months ago through Marlins Small Business Outreach Meetings,” said Jerry Pasantes, Contex Construction Project Manager. “From these meetings we were able to succeed in obtaining a contract for a portion of the stadium foundations and super columns. We continue to participate in the construction of the ballpark in various capacities.”
